I'm Siân.

My love for art began as soon as I could hold a brush. I drew whenever I could—and often when I shouldn’t—transforming math textbooks into sketchbooks filled with illustrations from cover to cover. Growing up, I always assumed I’d become a professional artist. But after high school, I worried that turning my passion into a career might make something I cherished feel routine and monotonous.

Instead, I chose a career in graphic design and spent over a decade working for a crisis management firm in London and New York. As the years passed, I found myself drifting further from my true creative self. My daily life seemed to lack the joy and vibrancy that painting once brought me. So, in early 2024, I made the decision to step away from the corporate world and pursue a new career as an artist.

While I have no formal training, I feel fortunate to begin this journey at a time when I can learn from artists around the world at the scroll of a finger or the click of a button. Every piece I create is a step in rediscovering my passion.

My current work focuses on my love of Türkiye. Pretty random for an Australian born to British parents with absolutely no exposure to Türkiye until last year. But I’m a bit of a “fad-ster” and when I get obsessed with something - in this case, Turkish film and television - I really lean into it. I’ve been learning Turkish for over a year now and have no desire to let up until I’m fluent.

While my passion lies in portraiture, my recent English-Turkish text paintings have served as an important reminder that while change can be scary, anything is possible when you believe in yourself. I started 2024 with no potential clients and in October I launched my online shop. It all feels a bit surreal. I’m so unbelievably excited to share my work with you. Desteğiniz için çok teşekkür ederiz.
